Born and grown up in Germany, I did my Bachelor and Master studies in Civil Engineering at the Technische Universitaet Berlin. In 2017, I decided to move to New Zealand and to start my PhD in earthquake engineering at the University of Auckland. I enjoy learning new things every day and spending most of my leisure time outdoors exploring New Zealand.

Research Title: Seismic exposure and impacts across New Zealand infrastructure networks.

Project Summary: Using recently developed geospatial models, the research project aims to estimate potential damage of national scale infrastructure networks caused by seismic hazards such as ground shaking, liquefaction, and landslides. The results will then be linked to network criticality – the economic and social value of a network – in order to achieve a more comprehensive assessment of seismic impact across New Zealand infrastructure systems.
